The Embassy Suites in Denver, Colorado is a great find.  As soon as you walk in the door the serene peacefulness of the lobby relaxes you instantly.  It’s very hard to find tropical warmth in the winter time in Colorado, but it can be found at the Embassy! The sky lights which make up the ceiling let in an abundance of light which allows for the Embassy to grow huge beautiful tropical plants filling the bottom floor with palm trees, irises, and luscious growth.   Not only is the natural sunlight great for plants, but its great for photographers!  Many hotels can be nightmares for photographers with their windowless dark hallways.   But the abundant natural light filling the Embassy makes it a great place for pictures.    The Embassy also has superior staff and incredible food!   At their request, I created a sample wedding album consisting of all the events I have photographed for them in the past such as special event set-ups, engagement sessions, and a wedding.   If you want to see samples of what the Embassy can do for your special event, check out the preview book below.  Please keep in mind that you are viewing full page spreads, or 2 pages open flat.

Kate & Alex were recently married at the beautiful presigious Green Gables Country Club in Denver, Colorado. The fall leaves may have been covered unexpectedly by snow, but thankfully the antique interior of the Green Gables Country Club provided a charming cozy setting for their ceremony and reception. It was a year ago when I did Kate & Alex’s engagement pictures in downtown Denver and it was hard to believe a year had gone by and it was already their wedding day. Thanks to the help of Penny with Revelry Events, all the details were in place and everything was set perfectly for this special day. The wedding party had a gorgeous unique display of flowers created by Bella Fiori.   And my favorite local DJ, Center Stage Entertainment,  provided acoustic guitar for the ceremony and groovy danceable beats for the reception.  Some wedding receptions seem to drag on for hours, but you could tell everyone was having a blast because before we knew it the last song came on and the lights turned up. No one wanted to stop dancing, but all good things must eventually come to an end. I was just so glad to be a part of it!  Check out their storybook below:

NewOrleansweddingphotographerAndrea & Eric have been together for over a decade and after years of putting off a formal wedding they eventually decided to elope in New Orleans on Halloween day.  When I first met them in person, just a day before the wedding, I could tell immediately how perfect they were for each other by the way they laughed together &  finished each others thoughts.  The couple had always wanted to visit New Orleans so a mini wedding/honeymoon in the French Quarter was perfect for them!  On the wedding day I met up with Andrea at a salon in the French Quarter and then after helping her slip in her dress she met her groom on the rooftop of the Omni Hotel.  From there we rushed to the chapel were every step along the way they were cheered on with “Congratulations!” At the oddly cute & funky French Quarter Wedding Chapel we were joined by Andrea’s father and his wife.  Other family members managed to join in by speaker phone.  The Reverend and owners of the French Quarter Wedding Chapel were amazing to work with and I would recommend a wedding there for anyone looking to elope or host a mini French Quarter wedding.  After toast and cake at the chapel we walked to the St.Louis Cemetery which was a perfect backdrop for a Halloween themed wedding.  Then we headed to the St.Louis Cathedral for more photos before the couple’s romantic dinner at Broussard’s. I didn’t join them for dinner but couldn’t pass on the chance to get  photos of them in their Halloween costumes. So later that night I offered to meet the bride and groom back at the Omni Hotel for pictures in their post wedding costume attire.  They looked amazing in their vampire and pirate outfits and I was so glad to be able to document their second “wedding outfits.”  Andrea & Eric, I had an amazing Halloween with you in New Orleans, and this is definitely one wedding I will never forget!

At the French Quarter Chapel every couple must sign their names on a 1$ bill.  The bill is then hung on the ceiling among the many others who have wed at the chapel.BlogCollage2

Tori & Kenny’s Engagement Photos in south Louisiana:

Tori & Kenny have known each other their whole lives. Their moms are best friends and used to joke about them getting married one day, but I don’t think they thought it would really happen. But it turns out their mothers were right after all and now these two love birds and childhood friends are tying the knot! Tori & Kenny live about 1hr. outside of New Orleans in the quaint charming town of Pearl River.  Since this couple told me they were not really into “city things” I agreed to drive up from New Orleans for a photo shoot in a friend’s back yard. The yard turned out to be a perfect match for them with a country swing, a pier on the water, and some fun unique objects like an old cypress tree and a fake alligator. I was so glad it all worked out (and I even got some real smiles out of Kenny) because we ended up with some great pictures that will be used to create an engagement photo guest book for their upcoming New Orleans wedding at the Southern Oaks Plantation.  See you guys in January at the wedding!
