Lower Lake Ranch Wedding Pictures in Pine, CO

Lower Lake Ranch Wedding Pictures in Pine, CO

Val & Tim had a beautiful intimate ceremony at Lower Lake Ranch in Pine, CO.  We had a few bursts of rain showers throughout the day, but when the ceremony started & when we were outside for pictures the skies stayed dry just for us.  Their breathtaking ceremony was followed by a joyous celebration at Crystal Rose in Highlands Ranch.  The reception had a fun playful tone filled with lots of kids and even games to play.  It was an emotional & exciting day for everyone involved and it was an awesome experience to be able to photograph it.  Play the slideshow below to see the excitement of their day in this picture preview.

Megan & Darcey Picture Preview – Wedding at Canongate Blackstone Country Club in Aurora, CO

wedding at Blackstone Country Club in Aurora, CO

Megan & Darcey had a beautiful wedding at Blackstone Country Club in Aurora, CO.   After photographing over a hundered weddings you would think I would have seen it all.  But every wedding is different from the last & Megan & Darcey certainly added their own unique twist to their day.  This bride certainly has style with amazing dresses chosen for herself & bridesmaids, unique flower arrangements, and my favorite….the hip hop violinist that performed for the ceremony & the reception.  Megan & Darcey also skipped many of the traditional dances & bouquet tosses in exchange for more time to just hang out & dance with their guests…and more time for toasts.  It’s funny the things I learn about my clients during the toasts, and this bride & groom certainly had a lot of people that wanted to talk about them…in a good way of course!  This was a day Megan, Darcey & their families had been waiting for for a long time for, and I was honored to get to be a part of it. Congrats Megan & Darcey on a successful & beautiful wedding celebration!  Click the link below to view their picture preview.

Monica & Tom’s Wedding Story – Cambodian Ceremony & Mile High Station – Denver, Colorado

If there were 2 words that could sum up Monica & Tom’s 2 day wedding weekend it would be “color” & “laughter”
Of course, there are many more words I could use to describe their exceptional weddings, but since pictures speak a thousand words, I’m going to let the photos do the talking. Click on the photos below to flip through the pages of Monica & Tom’s “Wedding Stories.” These custom designs took me a few weeks to complete, partly because I had over 5,000 images to sort through, but even more so because as an artist sometimes its just hard to stop designing & creating, especially when you have so many unique gorgeous images to work with. But eventually these designs will be turned into a printed book for the couple to remember their wedding weekend forever.  Enjoy the show…

Errika met Philip in New York where they just bought a house together, but they decided to come back to beautiful Colorado for their wedding.  This bride & groom’s unique wedding style mixed urban city with breathtaking Colorado landscapes.  And they didn’t leave any details out from the bobble head custom cake toppers to their own signature wine labels.  Their day started with a wedding ceremony at the beautiful Immaculate Conception Cathedral in downtown Denver. Then we went to the Union Station for pictures with the bride and groom, where we almost got thrown out by a grumpy security guard. Everyone then took the provided buses to Red Rocks Country Club in Morrison for the reception.  Red Rocks Country Club is a gorgeous setting for a wedding, and its amazing how varied the landscape is just about 40 minutes from downtown Denver.  The reception was filled with guests, great food, and lots of entertainment.  The best man’s toast was the funniest toast I have ever heard…I’m not even going to try to repeat or summarize it, but you can see the couple’s reaction to the toast in the slideshow below, they could barely contain themselves!  The Spotlight band also put on a great performance, and had no problem packing the dance floor.  Please check out their picture preview slideshow below and be sure to leave a comment below. Thanks Erika & Philip for allowing me to be a part of this special day!

Engagement Photography in Denver, CO

Engagement Photography at REI in Denver, CO

I was supposed to have Alexis & Kevin over last night for their “Image Unveiling,” but a huge rain storm decided to get in the way & we lost all electricity.  As amazing as digital photography is, when there is no power, there are no pictures….well at least until the prints & books are made at least.   I think that is one reason why I love the actual prints so much, they don’t require a computer to look at, and will never become obsolete.
So instead I had to sat in the dark, catching up with phone calls & Facebook until my phone died….crazy how much we rely on electricity.  My husband and I did sit outside as the sun set and placed bets on which of our solar powered yard lights got the most sun and would turn on next (I won)…..now only if my computer could run on solar energy!

Anyway, since I couldn’t show Alexis & Kevin their pictures last night I wanted to at least put up a picture preview for them on my blog.   This cute couple lived across the hall from each other in their college dorms.  It was great hearing how his family first met Alexis at his sister’s wedding.  I’m sure they didn’t expect years later to be planning their own wedding together.
I loved Alexis & Kevin’s idea to take pictures around REI.  There are so many great spots for photos right outside along the Platte River, and the architecture of the REI building is really amazing.  Play  the picture slideshow below to see what I’m talking about.

After REI we headed on a graffiti search.  My favorite graffiti wall of the Denver skyline was unfortunately covered by lots of cars, but we had no problem finding lots of other interesting & colorful graffiti in the neighborhood.  We also stopped by one of their favorite breweries, the Great Divide.  9am  was a tad too early for a beer, but it was a great spot to stop for some pictures.

Alexis & Kevin are big fans of the the great outdoors, and I’m excited to be heading up to the mountains with them in September to photograph their wedding at Breckendridge Lodge & Spa

Thankfully my power is back on today….now if the rain could just stay away for my photo shoot tonight.
