Wedding- FAQs

*After the cake is eaten and the dress is put away, the photographs are all that’s left to remember the day.*

What is your wedding philosophy? My goal is to document those unique candid moments of your day while also creating beautiful artistic pictures you will cherish forever!  Weddings only happen once (well, hopefully!) so I make sure to get everything planned out well in advance to help your wedding day run as smooth as possible.  I observe like a hawk, move like a ninja, and shoot like a sniper….or so I’ve been told.  My attitude always stays positive and helpful, and the camera doesn’t leave my side till I’m driving away, doing my best to not miss a moment.  Meticulous care is taken with your memories, as I spend an average of 40 hours processing your wedding images from the first edit to the final retouching for your custom designed wedding album.

And what about the other photographers and the rest of your staff? Most of the photographers I work with have been shooting with me for 5-6 years now, and are not only amazingly talented but a joy to have on my team.  I also have a handful of assistants that help out at weddings when needed, as well as help with production to make sure we get everything delivered on time as promised. All of my staff is not only well-trained but each selected because of their positive energy and great attitude.

How many weddings do you do a year? I only photograph 15-20 weddings each year to allow myself time to give my brides the full attention and superior service that they deserve.  This also allows me time to focus on my other photography passions – boudoir, maternity, lifestyle, and fine art photography.   I develop lasting relationships with my clients and want to have the time to also document their growing lives together from baby pictures to family reunions.

What is your experience with weddings? My first wedding was in 2005 and I have photographed about 200 weddings (I lost count after 100) since then.  I love weddings and drive my husband crazy watching all those reality wedding shows on TV.  Being able to capture such important once in a lifetime moments while creating beautiful works of art is truly my passion. I put my heart and soul into my work to deliver the most outstanding images and best photography service I can possibly provide.  Also, as a recent bride myself I know how difficult the wedding planning process can be so I am also happy to help where I can with referrals and your time line.

What are your Prices/Fees?  Weddings can be an expensive investment, so make sure you are spending your money in all the right places.  Your photography (other then your spouse) is the one thing from your wedding day that should last you forever.  And documenting this once in a lifetime moment is certainly a worthy investment.  Pricing depends on quite a few factors such as location, size of wedding, and amount of coverage.  Small weddings in need of coverage only for a half day with one photographer starts at only $1800.  However, most of our couples opt for our deluxe packages that include 6 hrs+ of coverage, 2 photographers, an engagement session, a custom designed wedding album, and much more.  These deluxe packages start at $3200.  Fill out this “Quick Wedding Survey” and I will send you a custom wedding package that will work best for your wedding day needs, thanks so much!!

Do you offer albums, canvas, or other product options?  Yes, I most certainly do!  It’s just a matter of time before photography moves onto the next type of format which could leave jpgs and CDs obsolete.  The one type of format that will never become unreadable or outdated is print!  I offer a wide variety of albums, memory books, as well as wall art.  One unique option all my clients love are the metal prints.

Do you travel for destination weddings? Most definitely!  I LOVE to travel, be sure to fill out my “Quick Wedding Survey” and I can send you a destination wedding quote.

Are you currently located in New Orleans or Denver? I was born and raised in New Orleans (LSU alumni!) but have been living in Denver since Hurricane Katrina.  I do now spend most of my time in Colorado but still travel back to New Orleans numerous times a year to photograph weddings and visit my family. There is no additional travel fee when you book me for your New Orleans wedding, however with the additional time and expense of traveling I can only take on a limited amount of weddings and photo shoots in Louisiana every year.

Do you do LGBT/ gay  weddings? Of course! Everyone is equal in my eyes no matter your race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.

Keep in Mind… Choosing the right photographer is important to capture your memories to last you a lifetime and beyond.  Be sure to do some detailed research of wedding photographers to make sure you not only like the style and price of your photographer, but their attitude and professionalism as well. Your photographer is the only vendor that is by your side for most of the wedding day, and that you will need to correspond with after your wedding day.  I am often with my clients from the dressing room till they leave at the end of the night.  And not only am I still doing business with my clients for weeks and months after their wedding, but I frequently develop long term relationships with my clients leading to maternity portraits and family photos for many years to come.
