Autumn & Josh wanted to celebrate the new addition to their family, a beautiful little puppy, with a photo shoot. Autumn & Josh had not taken any professional pictures since their wedding day and what better time for photos then while your dog is still an irresistibly adorable puppy…which unfortunately never lasts as long as you want. For their photo shoot we met at the Denver Art Museum downtown, one of my favorite places to shoot. They were doing construction around Civic Center Park so we couldn’t get into all the usual spots around the park. But a challenge like that is good for me as it forces me to think outside the box and come up with new creative ideas & find new spots I haven’t done before.

Denver, CO Family & Senior Photography Fundraiser
July 2, 2010R.I.P. Brianna Canacari: 10/03/97 – 06/19/10
Youth is a precious thing…often taken for granted. We teach our kids math, science, and spelling, but why not teach them about life, morals, respect, self-confidence?? Is it more important that a kid knows how to do a math equation or that they know how to love themselves and each other? How many suicides does it take for us to get our priorities straight? Talk to your children about suicide and if you can help the family that loved her so much and help raise awareness of teen suicide by donating to the Brianna Cancari Memorial Fund.
There are four ways to donate:
- Visit any 1st Bank location and request a donation to be made to the Brianna Canacari Memorial Fund.
- Mail a check to 1603 Sand Wedge Way, Castle Rock, CO 80104, make payable to Brianna Canacari Memorial Fund.

Maternity Photography on Pensacola Beach, Florida
June 11, 2010You may remember Molly from her sexy Boudoir pictures. Well now she is now happily pregnant and we recently had the opportunity to take these beach maternity photos at Pensacola Beach, Florida with her lovely husband Mike. I think Mike was more into finding seashells then taking pictures, but as always Molly was a perfect model! Hopefully I’ll get to photograph some 2nd or 3rd trimester maternity and even baby pictures in the next upcoming months. Not much time for writing tonight…had a busy day full of exciting calls and then a wedding this evening full of unexpected rain showers. Now I got to pack my bags for a quick weekend trip away…gotta get to the great outdoors and enjoy one of the few weekends I have off for the summer. Now off to packing! Enjoy!
Still haven’t figured out what to get Mom on Mother’s Day? Don’t want to fight the crowds at the restaurants or do the same old boring bouquet again? What is the one thing all moms truly love? Pictures of their kids! Do something extra special for your mom this Mother’s Day & do a fun photo session! Here are a few ideas on different locations and how to make a day out of it:
1) Start with family photos amongst the drooping oak tress in City Park, then take Mom and the kids to Storyland.
2) Meet at the Riverfront for pictures in front the mighty Mississippi & the historic St.Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter, then take her for beignets at Cafe Du Monde.
3) Breakfast at the Audobon Tea Room, a photo shoot around the lake and beautiful grounds of the park, then bring her to Irma Thomas’ Mother’s Day concert at Audubon Zoo .
This will be the one gift she will truly treasure forever! I will be in New Orleans on Sunday but only have 2 spots left for a Mother’s Day photo shoot, so if you are interested please contact me by email or at 504-298-5319 asap.
Mother’s Day Special – $245
Includes:
- 45 min. outdoor photo session at the location of your choice (within N.O. area)
- $75 print credit for Mom
- $50 print credit for yourself

Super quick post tonight as I just had to get this up before I left town in the morning…well actually in 4 hours, I better go to bed!
But before I go, here are some of my favorite pictures from a photo shoot I did in City Park, New Orleans of beautiful baby Graham with his parents Krista & Rob. Graham loved being outdoors so much it was quite a challenge getting him to look at us or the camera, instead he just wanted to play with the grass, or better yet eat it! But we managed to get some great shots of him…lots more to come!
Children Photography – Spring Easter Pictures
April 2, 2010Spring signifies new life, bright colors, warmer weather, and Easter celebrations. For this photo session we had all of the above plus 2 unpredictable toddlers.
Toddlers can be a lot of fun to hang out with and photograph….or they can just throw a fit and cry. These girls did both. We had some cute colored baby chicks to play with which the girls adored. However, the girls were unaware of their strength and did not know how to delicately hold the chickens. Afraid of a nighmarish ending reminiscent to a scene from “Of Mice And Men” we decided it was best to put the chickens away and salvage their lives. Ruby was not too fond of that idea and no matter how desperately we tried to bribe her with kind words and popsicles, she screamed and cried for as long as she could last. Allison on the other hand took a melancholy stance as she watched her sister, but had no problems letting me follow her around and pose her for multiple pictures the rest of the day.

While Ruby cried at the sight of her chickens being locked up, her younger sister Allison was a ham for the camera! When you photograph young children, especially toddlers, you just never know what you’re going to get!
With the weather finally starting to warm up its time for portraits – maternity, babies, seniors, children, families, models, and even pets – you name it I’ve done it! The portrait section of my website is in desperate need of updating (its been on my to do list for 3 years now!), so I figured for now I needed to get more samples on my blog.
Below is a book, or album, I recently had printed of different outdoor and studio portrait photo sessions I have done over the past few years. Flip through the slide show below if you want to see this portrait portfolio, or even better set up a consultation with me in person so you can see the quality of the album, touch the pages, and feel how awesome this fuzzy leather cover is!
I’m also trying out a new slide show program that creates these cool flip pages, so please let me know if you have any issues viewing the flip book.
Trash the Dress Photography in New Orleans
March 19, 2010New Orleans…the gothic city of romance & grunge is a perfect place for a Trash the Dress style photo shoot. The scene was perfect…a bride in an antique wedding dress, amongst the grime of the French Quarter, the beauty of the architecture, & oak trees lit up by old street lights. Frenchmen St., the locals’ Bourbon St….without the strip clubs & cheesy DJ’s…with extra soul and character….my favorite place to meet…and a perfect backdrop. The sunlight dropped fast, but with the amazing ISO capabilities of my Nikon D700 camera, low light and night time photography becomes a welcome challenge. Thank you Michelle for going all out on this shoot, with the antique lace veil and feather eyelashes to top it off. If you want to see more pictures from this photo shoot and other trash the dress style shoots, please go to my website and click on “Sexy & Fun Gallery.” Whether it’s the day after your wedding, your 2 year anniversary, or just a fun shoot in your mom’s 1970’s wedding dress, trash the dress photo shoots are a great way to get that dress out of the closet and shown off like it should be! And of course you don’t have to literally “trash” the dress…that’s just become the modern term for a post wedding day bridal photo shoot. With no ceremony to rush off to or formal pictures left to take, the bride becomes free to relax and do as she wishes…or dares.
Enjoy!

Caleb’s Baby Pictures in New Orleans
January 17, 2010
Caleb is one of the cutest babies I have ever photographed! As his aunt I may be a little prejudiced, but we’re still planning on sending his photos to Regis & Kelly in hopes of winning their cutest baby contest. The first set of photos were taken today at a park in my sister’s neighborhood in New Orleans, the bottom ones were taken a couple of months ago at the Audubon Zoo. Caleb is a little camera shy and as soon as my camera is held up in front of him he freezes up and gives me a disgruntled grin. But with a lot of patience and a lot of goofing around in the park we were finally able to get some smiles out of him…or maybe it was just his love for the Saints!
