Backyard Updates = New Photography Opportunities

The full reconstruction and re-design of our backyard has been a huge project for me this year.  Our yard originally started as a mess of weeds, booby traps (dog shit), and holy land (literally break your ankle type holes in the ground).  This summer we finally saved up enough funds to enlist some professional help (trust me we needed it) to turn the yard into an amazing beautiful space for lounging, dining, and of course – taking pictures!  My goal is to have a yard full of mini photo opportunities for outdoor portraits incorporating boulders & plants, the metal arbor, funky colorful benches, and a graffiti painted wall (if you know any great Denver graffiti artists please chime in!).

Thanks to Sunny Daze Landscaping for helping make my dreams and vision a reality.  Sunny’s creativity and his team’s hard work made it come together quicker then I could have ever imagined….seriously it took me 3 times as long to find the right patio furniture then it did for them to deconstruct, redesign, create a patio, and landscape the whole yard….maybe I should have also hired them to build my patio furniture for me too!   I still have a lot of details to add, such as a shade & lighting structure, the graffiti wall, and a year or so of plant growth to really fill out the yard, but we’re getting there! When complete this yard will be perfect for  photographing private outdoor photo sessions, such as for boudoir photography, individual head shots, children, and seniors.   Oh, and of course perfect for some backyard parties as well!

Watch the animations to see the before, after, and full progression of our yard in the last two months.  I’m not the best at photographing before & after yard photos…. but even if far from perfect I’m so glad to have these pictures to remind me of how far our backyard has come.  Special appearance by my dog Cali.  =)
