Halloween Wedding in the New Orleans French Quarter
November 8, 2009
Andrea & Eric have been together for over a decade and after years of putting off a formal wedding they eventually decided to elope in New Orleans on Halloween day. When I first met them in person, just a day before the wedding, I could tell immediately how perfect they were for each other by the way they laughed together & finished each others thoughts. The couple had always wanted to visit New Orleans so a mini wedding/honeymoon in the French Quarter was perfect for them! On the wedding day I met up with Andrea at a salon in the French Quarter and then after helping her slip in her dress she met her groom on the rooftop of the Omni Hotel. From there we rushed to the chapel were every step along the way they were cheered on with “Congratulations!” At the oddly cute & funky French Quarter Wedding Chapel we were joined by Andrea’s father and his wife. Other family members managed to join in by speaker phone. The Reverend and owners of the French Quarter Wedding Chapel were amazing to work with and I would recommend a wedding there for anyone looking to elope or host a mini French Quarter wedding. After toast and cake at the chapel we walked to the St.Louis Cemetery which was a perfect backdrop for a Halloween themed wedding. Then we headed to the St.Louis Cathedral for more photos before the couple’s romantic dinner at Broussard’s. I didn’t join them for dinner but couldn’t pass on the chance to get photos of them in their Halloween costumes. So later that night I offered to meet the bride and groom back at the Omni Hotel for pictures in their post wedding costume attire. They looked amazing in their vampire and pirate outfits and I was so glad to be able to document their second “wedding outfits.” Andrea & Eric, I had an amazing Halloween with you in New Orleans, and this is definitely one wedding I will never forget!

At the French Quarter Chapel every couple must sign their names on a 1$ bill. The bill is then hung on the ceiling among the many others who have wed at the chapel.

Me and my husband, Rev. Tony, own and operate the French Quarter Wedding Chapel. It was our pleasure and honor to have been a part of Eric and Andrea’s very special day. To give credit, the Reverend who married them and who appears in the photo is Reverend Reggie Hope. He is one of several Reverends who work for the chapel. Halloween was a very busy day for us, we performed 12 weddings that day so we used 3 different Reverends that day to make sure each and every couple had the time and special attention they each deserved. Rev. Hope told me he had one great time and Eric and Andrea were just wonderful people who he will never forget. We hope that Eric and Andrea come back again to celebrate an anniversary with us. And Nicole, the photos are just fabulous, what a great photographer you are. I see thousands of wedding photos and I must say these are some of the best I have ever seen, and I mean that truthfully, not just saying that. I also look forward to seeing rest of them and to meeting you again for the next wedding you will be doing at our wonderful little French Quarter chapel. Thanks to all who made Eric and Andrea’s day a day to remember for a lifetime.
My very best to all, come and visit us,
Lou Ann and Rev, Tony Talavera
