Benjamin & Alan are Engaged!

Did I want to document a once in lifetime surprise proposal? Yes! On top of one of my favorite venues – the historic clock tower in downtown Denver? Heck Yea! And would Alan say “YES” too? Of course!
Benjamin had a perfect surprise proposal planned. He told his boyfriend, Alan, that he won an award for his event planning services so they had to get dressed up for an awards ceremony at the top of the historic D & F Clock Tower on 16th St Mall. The Clock Tower is a unique historic yet modern venue that often hosts exclusive events for wedding and event professionals. And Benjamin even designed and printed his own tickets to the “awards ceremony,” so it was a totally believable story. I hid behind the curtains and when they arrived on the 19th floor Ben got down on one knee and proposed his love to Alan. Alan was ecstatic! I hopped out to document the scene and then also took some impromptu engagement pictures around the clock tower. There was so much love and joy filling the room, and yet the surprises kept on coming!
After some champagne and pictures out popped Alan’s family, whom had flown all the way in from Texas to celebrate this joyous occasion with them. The look on Alan’s face was truly priceless! (scroll below to see it)
Oh wait, but that wasn’t it! After lots of hugs and excitement at the clock tower Ben still had one more surprise. Next it was off to a surprise engagement party on a downtown Denver rooftop with more family and lots of friends.
It was so much fun to document this surprise proposal at the historic Clock Tower for them. How awesome that so many of their friends and family got to enjoy this special moment with them and celebrate their engagement. And if Ben put on this great of an evening just for their proposal, I can’t wait to see what he plans for their wedding day!
