Lauren & David’s Engagement Pictures – Dodging the Rain & the Crowds
After about 3 years of being closed off for major renovations, the Denver Union Station is finally back open! They just had a big Grand Opening ceremony the night before our photo shoot, so we were excited to not only check out the renovations but also to be one of the first photo sessions to take place there. The renovations are beautiful and so bright and fresh as compared to how dark and run-down it used to be. Check out my last engagement photo shoot at the Union Station in 2011 to compare. The Union Station used to be quite and always empty, but now it was full of life (which meant lots of people dodging for our pictures)! Even at 9am on a Sunday it was full of tourists not only traveling through by train, but just checking out the renovations. The idea to photograph at the Union Station came as a last minute idea after we experienced crummy weather and lots of rain for Lauren & David’s original session. We did do a few indoor pictures and thankfully I always carry a large umbrella in my car, so we were able to still get some great shots during their original session. However, they really wanted some bright sunny pictures, and I did too, so we decided to reschedule for another day. And we were glad we did, as it allowed us the opportunity to get some fun unique pictures incorporating the newly remodeled Union Station. Anyway, enough chatting from me, just check out the pictures! 😉

And here are the pictures from their first rainy engagement session. We hid from the rain inside of R.E.I. and then when the rain lightened up we went outside for some fun ones with an umbrella on the bridge going over the Platte River. The R.E.I. building also consists of historic Denver architecture that was renovated a few years ago, so it has some really unique spots for pictures when you need to take cover indoors.

Thanks Lauren & David for braving the rain and for dodging the crowds of people at the Union Station. I can’t wait to document your wedding at Pastures of Plenty Farm in Longmont, and crossing my fingers for dry blue skies!
