For their engagement session Greg, Sarah, and I hopped around downtown for pictures in front of graffiti walls and unique architecture, and a refreshing drink at the new local brewery, Former Future Brewery (a place I definitely recommend checking out if you’re a fan of unique quality beer). Sarah was a little shy at first having her picture taken, but Greg was great at getting her to laugh and open up. This cute couple will be tying the knot with an intimate non-traditional wedding in October.

I spotted this abstract blue & white painted wall sometime last year and waited for the right couple to photograph in front of it. When Greg & Sarah mentioned they wanted unique urban engagement pictures this wall popped back in my mind and they were down for it. And as it turns out Sarah actually knew the artist that painted the wall. It’s actually not just an abstract design, but represents the topography of Colorado, pretty cool!

Engagement Pictures and Graffiti around Denver
After we did a few pictures against the wall Greg mentioned that he liked my idea of making a beer stop at a local brewery, and I knew the perfect place right down the street! Two former clients of mine opened up a new brewery on South Broadway called Former Future Brewing Company. When I photographed their wedding a few years ago they had a 1920’s prohibition themed wedding and the groom brewed all his own beer, including a wedding cake flavored brew, served out of a vintage claw foot bathtub. After much hard work they recently opened their brewery and are serving some of the most unique and tasty beer in Denver. I love the dramatic lighting captured in this photo below at the bar.

After our drink break it was time to get back on the road and find more unique backdrops for pictures before the sunset. This building below is another spot I’ve been waiting to photograph in front of. I just love the lines and how the colors of the sky reflect in the window.

And the Denver Art Museum below left has always been a favorite spot for me to photograph around.

And why not throw in some cows? I just don’t understand why the artist felt the need to tag their ears?
