When doing engagement sessions I often meet up with my couples at a local Denver brewery or bar.  Sometimes a beer helps ease the anxiety of getting your picture taken, especially  if you’re camera shy or coming off a rough day at work.   We got lucky that Joyride Brewing Company in Edgewater also had a Scrabble game.  Audrey & Andrew both grew up playing scrabble and sometimes they now get to play together, so it was a fun addition to the night as they tried to connect wedding words such as “love, I Do, Bride, Ring.”    On their first date together they met at a bar and played a trivia game together and instantly hit it off, so it made sense to get these two lovebirds playing games together again for their engagement pictures

After a round at Joyride Brewery we walked across the street and finished off their pictures around Sloan’s Lake .  Sloan’s Lake is a great location for pictures when you want an outdoors nature setting close to downtown Denver.  We caught the dramatic light of sunset and then finished off with some night pictures around a random building at the park that had some  interesting lights and shapes.

I had a lot of fun with Audrey and Andrew, they are both laid-back and a little goofy, which makes me even more excited to photograph their upcoming wedding in just a few weeks at a private residence in Broomfield, Colorado.
