Liz & Tim’s Engagement Photo Session around SoBo (South Broadway)
Liz & Tim have one of those unique love stories that almost seems like it came out of a sitcom. They started off as roommates when their friends were dating each other, but Liz & Tim couldn’t stand each other. But after time went on they slowly realized they were actually just perfect for each other. Their hate turned to love and now they are engaged to get married on Halloween day! Perhaps they like stories that start off scary…but in the end turns to a romantic love affair. Or perhaps it was just strange fate that brought these two together. But whatever you want to call it, these two opposites complement each other well and are now happily in love and excited to now be forever roommates.
Liz & Tim are big fans of Black Crown Restaurant on South Broadway. It has a truly eclectic atmosphere with elaborate vintage decor filling every crook and cranny. And if you love live music, there is a pianist that plays while you eat. Liz & Tim have eaten here so much they even have their favorite server at Black Crown that treats them like VIP. So it made sense to do their engagement pictures at this uncommon location that has so many memories to them. And being on South Broadway there are lots of great spots for pictures around this part of downtown Denver. So first we walked around the neighborhood and found all kinds of different backgrounds for their engagement pictures. I’m a big fan of back alleys around Denver, as I can almost always find some awesome graffiti, old brick, or even overgrown weeds that can turn into unique backdrops. After lots of pictures around SoBo we went back to Black Crown and they graciously asked me to join them for dinner. Being a huge foodie I’m not one to turn down free food, so of course I said yes. This also gave me a lot more time to capture some unique pictures of them around the restaurant, and gave us a great opportunity to get to know each other better and talk about their upcoming wedding. And after a drink or two Tim was telling me all kinds of stories that definitely made for some fun and interesting conversations. Thanks again for dinner you two, I may have to even consider making dinner a requirement for engagement sessions. 😉
Liz and Tim certainly have a unique style of their own, they are having a masquerade Halloween themed wedding after all. I truly loved Liz’s black diamond engagement ring. I have never seen one like it before so I had to try it on, and it fit me so well I didn’t want to take it off! It also perfectly matched her sophisticated black outfits with those stunning red heels. I cannot wait to document their Halloween wedding at Villa Parker and see what kind of fun elaborate details and masks they come up with!
